The incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
