Instructor Fatally Shot and 25 Female Students Kidnapped in Armed Clash at Nigerian School
Armed assailants have killed a teacher and abducted at least 25 students in an assault against a female high school in north-western Nigeria, according to police.
The gang of attackers stormed the comprehensive secondary school for girls in the Maga locality within Kebbi State at around 4 AM local time on Monday, police confirmed.
The attackers "confronted officers on duty in a firefight" before climbing over the boundary wall and seizing the students from their dormitory, an official report indicated.
A school employee was lost their life while safeguarding the students. A second sustained gunshot wounds and is now undergoing medical care.
