Homages Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Are Sealed.

More than two weeks following the shocking loss of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can finally express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the film, remarking that he could not remember "one day without laughter".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles court official decided to bar the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate put a embargo on the investigation to restrict the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" associated with the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a record listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

After the deaths, public figures expressed varying reactions.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering divisive remarks that were met with immediate backlash by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the detractors last week. Conversing on his show, Rogan labeled the remarks as "disturbing" and suggested they revealed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an adviser ought to have intervened when the impulse to speak on the tragedy was made.
