Barcelona Set to Play Historic Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
