The final series of the streaming giant's supernatural blockbuster the show is poised to be one of the biggest shows of 2024. The initial episodes premieres on the 27th of November, however a preview of the spine-tingling first five minutes has been shared on the internet.

The Opening: A Return to 1983

The segment, named The Crawl, takes fans back to the beginning of the show in the early '80s, after the vanishing of the young character.

"Should I stay or should I go?" the character hums while attempting to remain composed in the parallel world.

Things quickly become frightening the moment a demogorgon emerges and pulls the character to the domain of Vecna. "After all this time, we can begin," he says to the captive simultaneously sending a plant-like appendage into his mouth. "We together, we shall create truly magnificent works in unison."

Broadcast Dates and Cinematic Screenings

Part two of the last season is scheduled to premiere on December 26, while the series finale out on New Year's Day – and will also have presented in select movie theaters.

The synopsis states: "The season of that year. Hawkins bears the marks by the opening of the Rifts, and the main characters are united by a single goal: hunt down and destroy the foe. Yet he has vanished – his location and intentions a mystery. Making more difficult the quest, the government has put the town under military quarantine and increased its hunt for the character, pushing her to go underground. While the commemoration of Will's disappearance approaches, comes a profound, familiar dread. The final battle is looming – and accompanying it, a darkness mightier and more lethal than anything else they've faced before. To end this terror, they will require all members – the full party – united, for the final time."

Production Insights

The surprise clip was uploaded online following the show's LA debut recently, with appearances from the stars such as Millie Bobby Brown and another key actor.

"The scope of it is bigger … There is more excitement and enhanced CGI, however it is likewise by far the most emotional season because it wraps up of the narrative for all of these characters," the production's head writer, commented of the last chapters.

His brother and collaborator, added: "Launching it in the world is anxiety-inducing, however we feel equipped to unveil it finally."
